Amy Chaplin has worked as a vegetarian chef for over 20 years in cities that include Amsterdam, London, Sydney and New York. Raised in rural New South Wales, Australia on a whole food diet by vegetarian parents, Amy’s approach to food is inspired by nature and the healing benefits of whole food ingredients.
Her IACP and James Beard award winning cookbook titled “At Home in the Whole Food Kitchen: Celebrating the Art of Eating Well” (Roost Books) was released in the United States and Canada in 2014, the UK, Australia and Taiwan in 2015 and Germany in 2016.

Amy is the former executive chef of New York’s renowned vegan restaurant Angelica Kitchen, a recipe developer, teacher, and private chef whose clients include Natalie Portman and Liv Tyler. Amy is a contributor to Vogue.com, Marthastewart.com and the Food Network’s Healthy Eats blog. She teaches classes and workshops internationally and recently lead a workshop on vegan food for the head chefs of the Soho House. Her vegan and vegetarian cuisine has appeared in numerous publications, including The Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, Vogue, New York magazine, the Guardian, the Huffington Post, Vegetarian Times and Garden Design. The editors of Martha Stewart Living dubbed her the “Goddess of Healthy Delights” (January 2012). Amy’s cooking classes were written about in a Health story for American Vogue and Vogue.com named them one of the top 10 Mother’s Day gifts. Amy has been interviewed on ABC Radio National, Martha Stewart Radio’s Living Kitchen, Heritage Radio’s The Food Seen and appeared multiple times on WNYC radio’s Last Chance Foods.

Through her book, website and classes Amy inspires people to seek out local and organic vegetables, stock their pantries with nutrient rich whole food ingredients and most importantly, to cook at home.
