Desperate to find out more information about her early years, they stumbled across a Global Sisters Report article about sisters in China who care for orphans with disabilities — and found some of the answers they were looking for. On the show today: * Billy and Robin Worley, parents of Teagan, 6 Background reading: * As soon as St. Therese of the Child Jesus Sisters moved onto the church grounds in a rural region outside of Beijing, abandoned babies with severe disabilities started showing up on the doorstep. One such abandoned baby was Teagan, or Tian Xin Yue. The sisters' care today encompasses three centers, known as the Liming Family, for children and young adults who receive therapy, education, and a chance to tell their stories. * Sr. Ma Suling, superior general of the St. Therese sisters, helped raise Teagan and later connected with Billy and Robin, sharing photos and stories from Teagan's early years. * In this Christmas Eve story from Global Sisters Report, Melanie Lidman reports how Billy and Robin Worley found Sr. Ma Suling and learned more about Teagan's infancy.
