Women are getting happier at work – it's a start

Last year, in the aftermath of allegations about Harvey Weinstein, the MeToo campaign that followed and large gender pay gaps at the BBC, I wrote an article in these pages about the happiness of women in the workplace. Based on the data from my engaging.works website, which surveys the workplace satisfaction of thousands of people, I found a 5pc happiness gap, with men more likely to be content than their female counterparts.

No surprise there, you might say.
