Gender & Sexuality Research Cluster

The Gender & Sexuality Research Cluster brings together members of the University community whose work involves Gender and Sexuality.

Our research spans a range of areas relating to gender and sexuality in politics and society. We seek to understand and challenge gender inequality around the world and to contest the ongoing subordination of gender and sexual minorities. We are committed to ‘mainstreaming’ gender concerns in higher education curricula and seek to work together with students on this issue.

This is an interdisciplinary cluster bringing together PoLIS staff in the fields of political science, policy analysis, political sociology, cultural studies, international relations and security. We also serve as a network for staff researching in areas relating to gender and sexuality across the University.

What we do

We organise a range of activities that include:

  • a seminar series running over both Semester of each academic session
  • support conferences
  • presentations

The Cluster holds a regular reading group. The next reading group will be on Thursday 20th September 2018, 13.15, Claverton rooms. Contact Dr Fran Amery for further details.
