Sometimes it seems like you have to have superpowers to land the prime Saturday and Sunday tickets to the annual New York Comic Con.
Once again, passes to this weekend’s pop culture extravaganza at the Javits Center are long gone. But that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on all the fun entirely.
Here’s a rundown of 11 Comic Con-adjacent activities that you can still enjoy even if you’ve been shut out of the big show.
Superhero burlesque!
Wondering what Deadpool is wearing under that costume? Join dancer Petite Renard and the members of Metropolis Burlesque for an evening of superhero-themed performances — by men and women. The party is sponsored by Source Point Press.

‘Mr. Robot’ beer release!
Hacking can work up a mighty thirst, so Coney Island Brewery has teamed up with “Mr. Robot” to produce a limited-edition fSociety IPA. Head to the brewery to get a taste and to get a sneak peek of Season 4’s first episode.

Cosplay cruise!
Join other comics fans dressed in their best costumes for a spin around New York Harbor. Enjoy drinks, dancing and watching that guy dressed as Thor trying to figure out what to do with that hammer on the dance floor.

‘Masters of Comics’ talk and signing!
They are some of the most distinctive stylists in comics illustration. Join Bill Sienkiewicz (of Marvel’s influential 1986 series “Elektra: Assassin”), Walt Simonson (of Marvel’s “Thor”), Japanese illustrator Yuko Shimizu and other artists as they discuss their working methods and their studio set-ups. Writer-editor and author of the new book “Masters of Comics” Joel Meadows will moderate.

Justin Verlander's gem gives Astros ALDS lead over Rays
Khary Randolph has drawn Batman, Spider-Man, the X-Men and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, among many other characters. And now the artist gets a solo exhibition, showcasing his style that has such disparate influences as Norman Rockwell and hip-hop.

The ultimate Willy Wonka party!
Ever wondered what it was like to sail down a river of chocolate or to slide down the “bad egg” chute? Here’s your chance to ask two of the actors from the classic 1971 film “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.” Paris Themmen, who played Mike Teavee, and Julie Dawn Cole (Veruca Salt) will be on hand for a Q&A following a special screening of the movie.

Graphic novel preview and conversation!
Anthony Bourdain called him the “archivist of all things Lower East Side.” Photographer and videographer Clayton Patterson documented the Tompkins Square riots, among other events in Manhattan’s once-gritty neighborhood, and he’s the subject of an upcoming graphic novel anthology. Join the artist, the book’s editor, Julian Voloj, and several of its illustrators for a conversation.

Geek Girl Brunch NYC, a local meet-up for like-minded female nerds, hosts its sixth annual Comic Con after-party, and all are welcome — both geek boys and geek girls.

Brits Jamie McKelvie and Kieron Gillen are among the indie-comics world’s hippest creators, responsible for the cult series “Phonogram” and “The Wicked + The Divine.” But they also DJ. And the pair are hitting the decks for a night of dancing, which they claim is their final gig ever.
