But in the form "IMM1344E--Application to sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking", Part1, Question.6: Relationship to principle applicant, the default options only have "Parent" but no "Parent In-Law". Can I just select "Parent" ? Or do I need to select "Other" and fill the next box with "Parent In-Law"? Thanks! 2. I wasn't aware that a person could sponsor their mother-in-law. 3. qingqing8866 Member 15 0 Click to Expand Click to Collapse Jan 5, 2014 #3 qingqing8866, Dec 13, 2014 at 12:27 PM Ponga said: I wasn't aware that a person could sponsor their mother-in-law. Background: My wife and I want to sponsor my wife's parents to Canada, they already have a multiple visa for 2 years and visit us frequently, my wife and I are Canadian PR and my wife's sister is a Canadian citizen. My wife and her sister both don't meet LICO and still are students, that being the reason my wife and I plan to sponsor her parents as I meet the LICO (~75k/year). Questions: 1. Can me and my wife together sponsor her parents? If yes where should we file the application? Would it make any difference if we file the application in Canada while they are visiting us in here? 2. I also want to sponsor my parents including my two siblings, If I sponsor my parents in law, would I be able to sponsor my own parents and siblings? Is there any time constraint between the two applications or can I file both parents sponsorship case together? If anyone has similar experience or has knowledge on this issue, please shed some light as I need to nail it down sooner than later. Thank you. Zawan Click to expand... scylla said: 1. Yes - you and your wife can co-sponsor your parents-in-law. All applicants are sent to Mississauga - the file will then be sent to the visa office if your wife's parents' home country. No - it won't make any difference if you file the application while they are visiting Canada. Note that you will have to wait until January to apply and will have to provide three years of Canadian tax returns proving you meet the low income cut off each of those three years. 2. Sure - you can sponsor your parents and siblings provided you meet LICO for the previous three years and can provide three tax returns as evidence. You will have to meet LICO for you an your wife (2) + her parents (2) + your parents (2) + the number of siblings you have. Note that you can only include your sibilings if they are less than 19 years old. Click to expand... 4. Your wife has to be part of the process. 5. zardoz zardoz VIP Member 13,243 2,113 Click to Expand Click to Collapse Feb 2, 2013 Male Canada Category........: FAM Visa Office......: London App. Filed.......: 16-02-2013 VISA ISSUED...: 31-07-2013 LANDED..........: 09-11-2013 #5 zardoz, Dec 13, 2014 at 12:40 PM Moreover, she probably has to be the primary sponsor, with you as co-signer... 6. qingqing8866 Member 15 0 Click to Expand Click to Collapse Jan 5, 2014 #6 qingqing8866, Dec 13, 2014 at 12:43 PM Ponga said: I see, but your question was worded as "I am filling out the forms for sponsoring my mother-in-law...", when you should have said "We are filling out the forms...". Click to expand... Your wife MUST be the sponsor, for her own parents. You can be co-signer. You can NOT be the main sponsor. As long as you are co-signer, you can use your income from 2011, 2012 and 2013 meeting necessary LICO amounts, to qualify for submitting the app in 2015. 11. qingqing8866 Member 15 0 Click to Expand Click to Collapse Jan 5, 2014 #11 qingqing8866, Dec 13, 2014 at 3:40 PM I understood now! My Wife has to be the main sponsor, but she can use my Tax for the past 3 years as I am the con-signer. Thanks ALL!!!! I almost make the BIG mistake to submit a invalid application...
