A THIEF who went on a crime spree stealing alcohol worth £988 from supermarkets in Gwent has been jailed.
Lee Prosser, 34, targeted Tesco in Ebbw Vale and the Waitrose store in Monmouth between July 14 and September 4.

The defendant, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to six counts of theft and failing to surrender.

Newport Magistrates’ Court heard how Prosser stole drinks worth £500 on one occasion from Waitrose on August 11.
He was sent to prison for 16 weeks and ordered to pay £875 in compensation.
